Personal Update
Re. my recent troubles, I’m very glad to say that as of this afternoon I’m in the clear. Many thanks to everyone who sent good wishes, encouragement, ideas etc.; I have a long memory for that kind of thing. Very, very much appreciated.
Bloody hell, that was close though. One more day, and..
Did you all see this a couple of weeks ago?

Welcome back indeed. But what had happened?
By the way, I am glad to see the whole crowd wearing ties in the film. Don’t like wearing the things myself, but somehow it is always reassuring in the past. Unlike moustaches.
Blue Brazil, eh? Almost like playing Barnsley then.

I don’t like ties either, but have always admired ratting caps, which were widely worn when I was a lad.

I don’t know what the problem was, but I’m glad it’s sorted.
(and that post about poetry and sport was great. But there’s more to be said. After all, today you still find players plucked from non-league to a Championship or first division side, although not many Tony Books now - from Bath City straight to Maine Road and a championship. Odejayi of Barnsley/Chelsea fame was at Forest Green Rovers in 2003 before Cheltenham signed him. Not a bad player, fast but a tad lazy. Wouldn’t run for the ball unless he knew it was his.)

I hadn’t seen that… have to love the “there’s just a touch of irony in that nickname…”
